OT 640 Debriefing Video

  1. Hey Alli!
It sounds like you had a great fieldwork experience! I am really looking forward to level II fieldworks as well. I had the same feeling that you explained, especially after this rotation- that I had just found a rhythm and learned my way around the facility right as it was time to go. I still learned so much in the two weeks, but it will be great to have a much longer time to learn and really practice my skills on level II fieldwork. I also agree that it is a big advantage to have clients who you see long term, as opposed to the acute care setting where you might see them a handful of times. It allows you to get to know them and develop a relationship with them, which gives you the opportunity to make your treatment sessions more client-centered. Great video, and have a great summer!

  2. Hey Alli!
I agree that I am looking forward to level II fieldworks as well. I too feel that as soon as I got the hang of it, it was over. I do feel that with every level I fieldwork, I have felt more and more prepared for level II rotations. I enjoyed hearing about your experience in a SNF. I was in that setting for my last rotation and really enjoyed it. A lot of the residents I got to see on my last rotation were also long term residents, and I think you made a good point about working with them in their naturally occurring environment. I agree that I could use more experience with working with COTAs. During this rotation in inpatient rehab, my FWE had a COTA that she was paired with. My FWE did all the evaluations of course, but the COTA had certain rooms that she would treat and my FWE had certain rooms she treated, so both got to do treatments as well. I am sure this is something that varies with every setting. Thanks for sharing! I hope you have a great summer!
